Abie's 6th Bithday Party at the Splash Pad 2010

For Abie's 6th birthday party he really wanted to have it at the Splash Pad. We were able to rent it for 2 hours for only $50. This party was pretty easy. I ordered inflatable sandals from oriental trading company, along with the stuff for the goodie bags. I took buckets and filled them with brown sugar to look like sand. I used Nutter Butter cookies and made them look like sandals and put them inside the buckets along with chocolate shells I made. I think they were so cute.

My mil usually makes all the cakes but recently moved to Las Vegas. I didn't want to ask her to travel out here and have to make a cake. I found a cute idea online to use teddy grahams on cupcakes. It looks like they are swimming in a pool. I used fruit rolls for a lounge float and gummy lifesavers for the inner tubes. I used gobstoppers as the beach ball. I made vanilla cupcakes from scratch but cheated and used store bought frosting.

For food I ordered stuff from Ralph's. That was crazy because the day I ordered they didn't tell me that day I was picking the stuff up that all the street's to get to the store would be closed because of a parade! The day of the party we asked 2 police officers at 2 different streets to let us by but they refused. Luckily at another street there was a police cadet. He was so nice, he let us through with a escort to the store. That guy saved the day!
I got PB&J's for the kids, and since the party started at 10am I did kind of a brunch. Ham and cheese crossiants, fruit and nut breads with whip cream, fresh fruit, milk, and juice. It was really yummy!

They kids splashed and played and fun was had by all. Abie was beat and fell asleep on the car ride home.
